Director of the Center for Advanced Microscopy and Imaging at Miami University beginning July 1, 2021.

Duties include and are not limited to: (1) provide expertise, training, and research support in transmission and scanning electron microscopy, and wide field, confocal, and other forms of light microscopy to faculty, staff, and students; (2) teach one course a year on the theory of electron microscopy; (3) teach one laboratory course a year on transmission and scanning electron microscopy; (4) perform, diagnose, or coordinate servicing of center instrumentation; (5) plan and coordinate future instrumentation needs and grant funding with an interdisciplinary group of faculty; and (6) supervise a full-time staff person and manage the center operating budget.

M.S. degree in Natural Sciences, Material Sciences, or a related discipline, five years of experience with light and electron microscopy instrumentation and sample preparation techniques, have a working knowledge of image acquisition and analysis platforms, have a working knowledge of image acquisition and analysis platforms.

Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Consideration may be given to candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Natural Sciences, Material Sciences, or a related discipline, five years of experience with light and electron microscopy instrumentation and sample preparation techniques, have a working knowledge of image acquisition and analysis platforms, and previous experience in teaching advanced courses in the theory and operation of electron microscopy.
