The Social Work Department at Misericordia University, located in Dallas, Pennsylvania, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track,10- month faculty and chair position, beginning August 2021. Rank and salary are negotiable and dependent upon applicant’s experience and qualifications.

Faculty members are expected to teach both social work courses (introductory and in their area of expertise) and sociology courses and actively participate in scholarly activities, student advisement, and service to the University and profession. The faculty member will assist with fieldwork preparation, student advising, and student clinical mentorship. Chair responsibilities will be identified.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are minimum requirements for consideration:

1.) Earned Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program

2.) A minimum of two-years post-master’s social work degree practice experience

3.) Experience as a Department Chair or higher administrative position

4.) A LSW or LCSW

5.) Eligible for licensing in Pennsylvania

6.) A minimum of two years teaching experience at the college level, preferably in the BSW or MSW program

7.) A working knowledge of CSWE standards

8.) A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion demonstrated by experience supporting diverse learners and/or research interests that explore equity initiatives and outcomes

 

The following qualifications are preferred for consideration:

1.) Doctoral Degree

2.) Hybrid/online teaching experience

3.) Successful accreditation experience with CSWE
