Assistant Professor in Recreation

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation at Pittsburg State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Applicants must possess at least one degree in Recreation and it is preferred applicants have completed a Ph.D./Ed.D. in Recreation or closely related field.  ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and also have the ability and desire to contribute to a strong Recreation program that actively involves undergraduate students. Teaching responsibilities include courses required for the B.S. in Recreation Services, Sport and Hospitality Management, preferably in the emphasis areas of Recreation and Sport Management and Hospitality/Event Management.  Additional expectations include advising students, active involvement in professional organizations, service to the college and community, and commitment to student success. First date of consideration, May 13, 2021.  The position is open until filled.
