Orthopaedic Shoulder Surgeon (73003)
The University of Florida Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation is currently recruiting a part-time (.20 FTE) academic shoulder surgeon at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor on non-tenure accruing track. Responsibilities will include primary patient care and teaching activities within the Hand and Upper Extremity Division.
The Hand and Upper Extremity Division consists of 5 fellowship trained hand surgeons and two fellowship trained shoulder and elbow surgeons. We have 4 Physician Assistants that work full time with the Division. The Division also educates two hand (upper extremity fellows) and one shoulder and elbow fellow a year. There is a Chief resident and Junior Resident on service at all times.
The main hand clinic is located in a modern 4 story building with physical therapy, hand therapy, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy as well as x-ray present. Immediately adjacent to this building is the outpatient surgery center. In patient surgery is performed in the modern wing of Shands hospital which is a level 1 trauma center.
Salary and faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and academic qualifications.
Interested applicants must possess a MD/DO program, have successfully completed a residency in orthopaedics, plastic surgery or general surgery,have performed a minimum of one year fellowship and be board certified or board eligible. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated a serious ongoing commitment to academics including publications and teaching.

A transcript will not be considered “official” if a designation of “Issued to Student” is visible. Degrees earned from an educational institution outside of the United States are required to be evaluated by a professional credentialing service provider approved by National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
