The English Department is in search of a scholar that focuses on
Contemporary (20c-21c) African American literature, including
drama. The English Department at Loyola University Maryland is a
vibrant, collegial group, committed to inclusive and high-impact
teaching practices. For example, the English department holds
regular discussions of antiracist pedagogy and curriculum, and the
department has just completed a revision of the curriculum that had
a primary goal of being more diverse and inclusive. Faculty pair
with an annual teaching partner to exchange personal best practices
and innovative approaches. We are active scholars and each semester
in convivial "Scholarly Engagements" faculty have the opportunity
to share their work in draft stages with colleagues. The Post
Doctoral Fellow will attend faculty meetings, serve on a department
committee, and participate in faculty/student social events.Ph.D.
