Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Ref.: 503785), to commence on July 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability.

Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Hong Kong Medical Council and a higher professional qualification recognized by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or its equivalent. Applicants should have extensive experience in managing patients with acute and chronic medical problems. Ability to speak Cantonese will be an advantage, although teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English. They should have demonstrated excellence in teaching and supervising medical students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and contributing to the enhancement and development of medical and health sciences courses in the Faculty. Applicants should have a proven ability in conducting independent high-quality research, as evidenced by an established research track record in paediatrics, substantial achievements in research publications and a track record of successful grant applications. The appointee will organize and develop undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, conduct research, and provide clinical services and patient care at the University’s teaching hospitals - Queen Mary Hospital and the newly established Hong Kong Children’s Hospital.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
