POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Student Financial Services, the Assistant Director will oversee operational processes, assist in developing and updating policies and system enhancements, and provide support related to the delivery of financial aid to Elmhurst University students. The Assistant Director will ensure regulatory compliance of all federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs as well as assist with fiscal compliance efforts. The Assistant Director will work directly with the Information Services office as needed and provide direct support to the staff in Financial Aid. The Assistant Director will be responsible for regular reporting, data analysis, and training of financial aid staff regarding system changes and upgrades. This position is focused on the utilization of campus technology resources to facilitate the administration of student financial aid and ensure compliance.
POSITION STATUS: Exempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains a high level of knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations
- Responsible for regulatory oversight and prevention of noncompliance related to financial aid
- Assists with maintaining core financial aid processes and annual setup within Colleague
- Develops and maintains essential reporting to support financial aid processes
- Works with Director on creating, revising, and applying policies and procedures
- Assists Director with audits, surveys, and other data collection and evaluation as needed
- Reviews and updates financial aid communication content for the department
- Performs ongoing statistical analysis of financial aid programs and processes
- Addresses technical needs of the financial aid staff and provides training as needed
- Oversees and supports regular reconciliation of financial aid programs
- Works closely with Director and staff to identify risk and prioritize areas of improvement
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather
conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to
10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force
frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or
otherwise move object.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in financial aid administration
- Colleague experience strongly preferred
- Informer experience preferred
- Strong communication and technical skills
