The Department of Psychology at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a two-year, postdoctoral teaching fellow position in the area of clinical/counseling psychology, to begin in August 2021. The individual selected for this position will be part of Loyola University Maryland's Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship, which is designed to support early career scholars from underrepresented minority groups on their path to becoming faculty members. The fellowship will provide financial support for salaries and benefits of fellows for two years. This fellowship program is designed to provide emerging scholars with professional mentoring in teaching and research with guidance of established faculty. Fellows will participate in a yearlong professional development program that includes internal and external support. Fellows will teach two courses per semester and conduct research and/or creative work in their chosen field of study. In addition to teaching and research, fellows will have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate students and participate in the life of the department and university. Funds will be provided for research or travel. While not part of the responsibilities of the position, opportunities for completing supervised clinical hours towards licensure is possible.(1) an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology, with subject matter expertise open; (2) record of promise as a scholar and future faculty member; (3) the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of clinical/counseling psychology (e.g., psychopathology, introduction to counseling, multicultural psychology); (4) the ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom, and to infuse multicultural content into course material as appropriate; (5) strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact teaching practices; (6) ability to contribute to the Jesuit educational mission of the department and university.
