Position Description:

PURPOSE:

Under the general supervision of the Interim Director of the Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment, the Administrative and Inclusion Analyst performs administrative tasks and other activities in support of the Center's faculty development and educational assessment role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • General Operations: Assists in the development and maintenance of a Center that welcomes, supports and engages faculty in professional development activities. Maintains a schedule of Center events and activities and provides participants with time, date, location and agenda items and other related information as necessary. Makes travel arrangements for all TLA funded or organized travel and prepares all related documents for authorization, payment and reimbursement. Processes payroll and personnel documents. Coordinates logistics (catering, room reservations, etc.) for professional development events. Orders supplies and services.
  • Budget and Expenditure Tracking: Assists the Interim Director in budget preparation and fiscal management. Creates, runs, and maintains financial reports. Reconciles office budgets and expenditures. Ensures that revenue and expenses are accurately recorded in the Common Financial System and in compliance with applicable university and grantor regulations or requirements of governing programs.
  • Assessment and Diversity and Inclusion Support: Supports the Interim Direct with assessment work and diversity and inclusion work.

Other Functions:
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge: Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them..

Abilities: Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities. Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment. Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, and/or administrative specialty.



Minimum Qualifications:
General knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.


Specialized Skills:
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Suite with particular attention to Excel, Word, and Publisher. Skilled in working with databases: understanding of data standards and structure; formatting; coding; basic analytic techniques; storage; report generation. Strong written and oral skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to address the essential functions associated with this position including the knowledge and abilities identified above.


Preferred Qualifications:
Technical fluency with Banner, Oracle/PeopleSoft, CSU Common Management System or equivalent information system; Microsoft Office Professional Suite, and Google Suite and calendaring programs.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment with standard equipment and tasks. Position requires working at a computer and desk for extended periods of time. Requires travel between campus offices and off-campus locations.

  • Anticipated Campus Hiring Salary: mid $1,000’s/month

Employees who are not initially eligible upon hire date for CalPERS retirement membership are required to participate in the CSU Part-time/Seasonal/Temporary (PST) Retirement Plan in lieu of Social Security. Employees enrolled in this program contribute 7.5% of their gross wages, on a pre-tax basis, to a retirement account that is available after separation of employment.
