Assistant Teaching Professor of Kinesiology

Penn State Harrisburg (PSH), a comprehensive college of The Pennsylvania State University, one of the largest and most widely recognized institutions of higher education in the nation, invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in its Kinesiology Program, with a start date of Fall 2021. This is a fixed term, full time, 36-week appointment. A doctorate in Kinesiology or a related area is required. Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Teaching four courses per semester
  • Advising and mentoring students
  • Engaging in scholarly activity
  • Providing service to the program, division, school, and university


Expertise in integrative sports performance and preparing undergraduate students for certification (e.g., the National Strength and Conditioning Association or the American College of Sports Medicine) is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with an ability to teach exercise prescription, physical fitness appraisal, and other areas commensurate with the needs of a growing Kinesiology Program. The successful candidate is expected to be a team player willing to work with a diversified faculty to build on the success and high-quality educational experience of the dynamic Kinesiology Program at Penn State Harrisburg.
