Position Summary:

The UW - Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation is looking for an individual that can be an active participant in research projects. The mission of the Al-Adra laboratory is to improve the quality of organs for transplantation through research and innovation; particularly related to donor organ pre-treatment using small animal models.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

BA or BS required, preferable in biology, or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

A minimum 1 year laboratory work experience is required. A minimum of 2-3 years of laboratory work experience is desirable. Must have excellent lab management and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have background in immunology and small animal models. Experience using CRISPR systems are required. Experience with multi-detector flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques including Western blotting, cell culture and PCR are preferred.

Successful applicants will be:
1. Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, will have excellent organizational skills, and capable of working with a team to design and execute experiments
2. Have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues
3. Successful in the participation of surgery and daily care of small animals
4. Successful in oversight of data collection, data analysis and interpretation of data findings.
5. Able to work flexible hours with occasional weekend and holiday rotations.
