Durham University is seeking a new Assistant Director of University Library and Collections and deputy to the University Librarian.

University Library and Collections reaches out across all areas of University endeavour, playing an integral role in the staff and student experience, and strengthening the reputation of the University locally, nationally and internationally. Our rich collections include four designated collections, museum objects, art, archives, rare books, modern book collections, research outputs and data. We work with the University membership, international researchers, national and international organisations, and the local community including our successful schools outreach programme.

We are seeking to recruit a new Assistant Director, who will have strategic leadership for specific teams in the department in addition to department wide responsibilities. They will work closely with the Director, deputising for her within the University and externally, whilst building and maintaining their own profile.

This is a key role in the department, and we are looking for someone who can take a long-term strategic view whilst ensuring our operational services are at their most efficient and effective.
