The IVMF is seeking an energetic and experienced individual to serve as an Associate Director, for Entrepreneurship to support the Arsenal portfolio- which currently includes eleven national programs and, the Center of Excellence for Veteran Entrepreneurship and the Coalition for Veteran Owned Business ( CVOB ). The Associate Director position is designed to support the growing Entrepreneurship and Small business portfolio and will assist the Director in the development of tools, resources, programming, and thought leadership to advance the state of veteran and military spouse owned businesses. Key Responsibilities include increasing partnerships, enhancing the entrepreneurship ecosystem, growing opportunities for veteran and military family businesses in the public marketplace as suppliers to the private sector and in supply chains, capital readiness, driving knowledge and publications around challenges and resources for military connected entrepreneurs and designing and building mechanisms to track metrics and progress across mission area. The selected individual will also assist in grant, proposal and contract development and support the IVMF Team focused on veteran and military spouse employment issues and programs. This position reports directly to the Director of Entrepreneurship and Small Business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• Four (4) plus years’ professional experience.

• Requires experience with small business management and collaboration building.

• Experience in military and veteran issues, challenges and needs, either gained through developing and/or managing veteran related programs and and/or military experience.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Specific Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of small business and entrepreneurship.

• Experience in project management, strategic planning, and coordination of services.

• Experience building and delivering educational programs.

• Preference given to those with a military service connection, or who have worked with veteran, military, and/or family stakeholders, universities or think-tanks, and familiarity with related government programs and services for veterans and their families.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and cultivating partnerships with key stakeholders (private sector companies, businesses, and NGO’s) to help identify, develop, and disseminate opportunities for veterans and military family businesses in the public marketplace.

• Coordinate and monitor IVMFs entrepreneurship and Small Business portfolio and work to develop and implement new project management tools and processes.

• Assists in the research, cataloging, and development of key veteran small business programs and supports for transitioning service members, veterans, and spouses to build their business.

• Plan and coordinate entrepreneurship related meetings, workshops, and special convening events for the military connected ecosystem.

• Manage the coordination and execution of the entrepreneurship and small business portfolios part of the overall IVMFs strategic plan,

• Measure and evaluate benchmarks and means required to support the achievement of goals.

• Collaborate with the IVMF staff to support and disseminate information to partners and stakeholders on leading practices in veteran employment and supply.

• Assist with the development of an overall marketing strategy and initiatives, including presentation opportunities, conferences, social media and collateral needs.

• In coordination with communications team execute marketing strategy and initiatives, including presentations, brochures, press releases, social media, and other promotional materials.

• Manage database of CVOB Partner and Member business profiles.

• Develop, support, and promote veteran business engagement initiatives.

• Cultivate, assist, and pursue sponsors, funding, and grant opportunities in coordination with the Director.

• Assist in managing budget and ensuring all financial objectives are met.

• Partner with faculty, administrators, and staff, as well as business and industry, education, NGOs, and other stakeholders to write and seek grant and contract funding.

• Develop and maintain up to date website information for partner and member profiles.
