The Lacy School of Business invites applications for a full-time lecturer position in Management Information Systems beginning fall 2021, subject to final budgetary approval.

The MIS program at LSB is growing, and we would like to find a candidate who possesses a Master’s degree or PhD in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a comparable area of study with an interest in pursuing an active research agenda. A candidate who has both strong IT and statistical data analysis skills is preferred.

Desired areas of expertise of the candidate include Microsoft Excel, principles of information systems, database and business analytics. Experience in teaching or working in healthcare IT, ERP and IT security is preferred. Teaching may be in-person, online or in a hybrid mode. The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.

The candidate needs to have a strong commitment to teaching involving lecture, discussion, projects, and cases appropriate for undergraduate students and a willingness to contribute to a college that values experiential learning. Additional responsibilities include academic advising and service on academic committees.

The MIS program is housed in the Lacy School of Business. Students in the business school can earn a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems major or minor. Students from other colleges of Butler University can also earn a MIS double major or MIS minor.

We seek candidates whose working, teaching and service responsibilities has prepared them to contribute to engagement with and inclusion of culturally diverse students, faculty, and staff. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and intercultural development in an educational and work environment and will be willing to contribute to building an inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population.
