Job Summary

Johnson County Community College is seeking qualified applicants for part-time teaching assignments in the Communication Studies Department beginning fall 2021. Instructors are needed for teaching on-campus, face-to-face classes. The biggest need is for morning and early afternoon classes. Classes may include Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Personal Communication, Intercultural Communication, and/or Workplace Skills. Candidates must have the ability to use the Canvas LMS for Syllabus and grades.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Communication Studies, Communication, Speech, or Speech Communication
Minimum of 1 year college teaching experience in the Communication Studies discipline
Demonstrated strong teaching ability
Computer literacy including ability to communicate, develop teaching materials, and enter grades electronically
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, colleagues, staff, supervisors, and community

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Communication Studies, Communication, Speech, or Speech Communication
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the teaching mission of a comprehensive community college
