Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate applied Tuba and academic classes in an area of expertise, actively recruit and maintain a studio of Tuba majors, and perform with faculty chamber groups. All School of Music faculty members are expected to achieve in research/performance, professional development, and service, be committed to undergraduate education, and work collegially with others. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with rank and experience.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Doctor of Musical Arts ( DMA ) Degree required.

Experience Required for the Position

All applicants will be considered, but preference will be given to those with a successful record of teaching Tuba at the university level. University teaching experience in the secondary area is highly desirable.

Other Requirements for the Position

All School of Music faculty members are expected to maintain a record of performances, service, and creative productivity that indicates continuing growth of national and international visibility. The applicant must work collegially with others and be committed to undergraduate education.
