CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
In collaboration with eight of CUNY’s senior campuses, Macaulay Honors College (MHC) provides the most promising undergraduate students with an elite academic program of interdisciplinary seminars, personalized advisement, and experiential learning supported by dedicated funding for study abroad, internships, and research. With approximately 2,100 students distributed on campuses across the five boroughs of New York City, Macaulay’s student body embraces the diversity of New York and represents the best and brightest of our next generation of leaders.

Macaulay Honors College at the City University of New York is seeking four Distinguished Lecturers. Beginning in Fall 2021, the successful candidates will teach core Macaulay seminars on Arts in New York City, The People of New York City, and/or The Future of New York City, and develop specialty courses for upper-level students. They may also develop courses for the Justice and Equity Honors Network (JEHN), a collaboration between Macaulay Honors College and Barrett Honors College (Arizona State University). These faculty may also teach courses in their home or related disciplines on the branch campuses of Macaulay Honors College.  The Distinguished Lecturer line is renewable annually, for a maximum of seven years; we expect these to be three-year commitments.

The incumbents will also take leadership roles in faculty development, student mentorship, and scholarly event planning. Macaulay values student-centered pedagogy, critical examination and use of educational technologies, and experiential and project-based learning; the successful candidates will bring these elements to their courses. This position reports to the Chief Academic Officer.
