ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY, PROFESSIONAL FACULTY

Position Description:

The Biology Department invites applicants for a professional faculty position beginning in August 2021. The qualified candidate will have a terminal degree such as M.D., O.D., or Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, Physiology or a related discipline. We seek a dynamic teacher and a proactive contributor to the life of North Park community. The primary teaching responsibilities for the position are freshman-level Introduction to Human Anatomy (more than 50% of responsibilities), sophomore/junior-level Advanced Human Physiology and other courses in the candidate’s area of interest.

The successful candidate will have a record of effective teaching, preferably to a diverse group of freshman students. The Biology department currently houses four majors: a traditional biology major, Biomedical Sciences major, an environmental science major and a molecular biology and biotechnology major. The department resides in the Johnson Center for Science and Community Life (opened August 2014).

This space includes state of the art teaching labs, research space for faculty/student collaborative research and a cadaver lab (http://www.northpark.edu/News/Nancy-and-GTimothy-Johnson-Center%20).
