Position Summary:

 

The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program in the Hamilton Holt School at Rollins College is seeking applicants for a visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2021.

 The position includes teaching graduate courses in the MPH program in the Hamilton Holt School. The ability to teach an array of public health courses at the graduate and undergraduate level is highly desirable. Other responsibilities of the positions may include advising, program and curriculum development, assurance of learning (AOL), service activities, general education, and research. The willingness to teach blended and evening courses is also expected.

This is a one-year contract with possibility to renew. The normal teaching load will be the equivalent of six courses a year, typically three courses per semester. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available.

Qualifications/Required Skills

 

  • Doctorate in Public Health or a closely affiliated discipline.
  • Some college-level teaching (graduate and undergraduate) is preferred.
  • Practical experience is highly desirable.
  • Candidates must have the ability to develop and deliver curriculum; meet the demands of the position in a timely manner; and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Candidates should have strong oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates are expected to be up to date on current topics in Public Health. Candidates need to have the ability to translate theory and concepts and apply it to realistic public health applications. Teaching in a highly interactive manner with students is part of the hallmark Rollins experience.

The Hamilton Holt School houses the MPH Program at Rollins College, and the Department of Health Professions houses our MPH program. Currently, courses are offered in the evenings and the department offers an undergraduate major in Health Leadership and a MS in Applied Behavioral Analysis.
