Luther College seeks an Assistant Professor or Instructor in Management/Accounting for a three-year renewable position to begin late August 2021. Located in Decorah, IA, Luther College is an undergraduate liberal arts college with a population of eighteen-hundred students. Our faculty and students are highly engaged in academics and research, music programs, athletics, sustainability, and service. Founded in 1861 by Norwegian immigrants, Luther values its heritage, just as it values the diversity of its students, staff, and faculty, who hail from many faith backgrounds and heritages. Coming from 39 states and 60 countries, 14% of our students are domestic students of color and 8% are international students.


Our location in the beautiful driftless region of northeast Iowa offers a wealth of opportunities not often found in small towns. POSITION & QUALIFICATIONS:  Assistant Professor or Instructor in Management/Accounting, rank will be based on academic and professional credentials. A graduate degree in a related field is required; teaching experience and substantial professional experience is preferred. In addition to teaching an introductory accounting course and financial management, the ability/interest in entrepreneurship, international business, or business analytics is preferred. Teaching responsibilities include up to seven course equivalents, a full-time load is spread over the fall, January and spring terms (4-1-4 academic calendar). Additional responsibilities include departmental/committee work, student advising and meeting with prospective students. Based on qualifications, performance, advanced certification, and future need, the position could become promotion eligible.
