Position Summary:

The School of Medicine and Public Health Fiscal Affairs Shared Services unit centrally provides financial services to multiple Department Chairs, faculty, and staff. Under the general supervision of the Associate Director for Finance and the Senior Associate Dean for Finance, the Shared Services Financial Program Manager will work with each of the Department Chairs and Department Administrators to provide advanced financial services and advice to help guide the operations of the department.

The Financial Program Manager duties include financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, supervision of financial staff, business process improvement, regular collaboration with department leadership and other tasks as needed.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field such as business or finance is strongly preferred. MBA is also strongly preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
-At least three years of supervisory experience.
-At least five years of experience in budgeting, financial management, and data analysis.
-Experience using automated accounting systems and general financial applications.
-Exceptional analytical skills; capacity to utilize data management and reporting tools, including query tools to synthesize complex and diverse financial and operational data. Ability to use the analysis to provide advice to senior leadership, administrators and faculty.

Preferred:
-Work experience in strategic planning.
-Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well; effectively influence actions and opinions of others to deliver positive organizational results.
-Ability to communicate and work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
-Excellent planning and organizational skills.
-Ability to balance incoming requests from multiple constituents timely and effectively.
-Knowledge of and/or experience with higher education accounting and budgeting systems.

License or Certificate:

CPA certification is strongly preferred but not required.
