Position Summary:

The Application Infrastructure Services department within UW-Madison's Division of Information Technology provides resources for data and identity integration, enterprise content storage, and website and web application development to UW-Madison and UW-System partners. Within this department, the Identity and Access Management team acquires, develops, and maintains identity and access systems, products, and tools for the entire University of Wisconsin (UW) System and, more specifically, UW-Madison. This includes designing, planning, developing, operating, and constantly improving our use and implementation of technology.

As a member of the Identity and Access Management team, individuals in this position would help implement and promote industry best-practices around identity, access, and population grouping. In this role, the focus will be on doing those things with Active Directory technologies (on premise Active Directory services and Azure Active Directory). Team Members have the opportunity to learn while they work as part of a team to support services that are used by students, faculty, staff, researchers, and others across the world.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of four years of experience operating, supporting, or maintaining enterprise level IT Services (a minimum of seven years of experience operating enterprise Active Directory services to be considered for the Senior level).
2. Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g. Powershell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl).
3. Basic understanding of Active Directory or LDAP authentication and administration.
4. Basic familiarity with enterprise directory synchronization tools such as Azure Active Directory Connect, Cisco Directory Synchronization, or others.
5. Experience working with partners to gather business requirements, articulating service capabilities to partners, and representing a technical service.
6. Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new technology and tools quickly.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience migrating users and objects from disparate AD environments to new environments.
2. Knowledge of custom Active Directory schema attributes.
3. Experience administrating Azure Active Directory and single sign-on.
4. Experience working in a higher education IT environment.
5. Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server roles and features.

Occasional non-standard hours of work are required for activities or unplanned events.

The candidate selected for this position will initially work remotely subject to an approved telecommuting agreement. Remote work requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on an employer provided computer. In the future, this position will likely be on-site, but future telecommuting could be discussed in accordance with policy and subject to approval. Candidate may, on occasion, be required to report to campus due to operational needs for meetings, trainings, or other activities.
