The Ding Lab in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Florida is looking for a self-motivated postdoctoral scientist who has a strong interest in natural product biosynthesis, new enzymology, and synthetic biology research. The Ding lab is part of the UF Center for Natural Products, Drug Discovery and Development (CNPD3, https://cnpd3.pharmacy.ufl.edu ) that embraces all aspects of natural products research from discovery, biosynthesis and chemical synthesis, assay development, screening and target identification to drug development.

Basic Qualifications (must be met at the time of application):

Candidates must have completed all degree requirements except the dissertation or be enrolled in an accredited PhD, or equivalent international degree.

Additional Qualifications (must be met by start date):

PhD (or equivalent international degree) required by the appointment start date. The candidate may have no more than three years of post-degree research experience by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications (must be met by start date):
  • Demonstrated expertise in the fields of natural product biosynthesis and bioinformatics;
  • Demonstrated expertise in synthetic biology applications;
  • Self-motivation and independence;
  • Being able to multi-task with multiple projects and keeping pace in a dynamic research environment;
