Position Summary

Dallas College is seeking an experienced, collaborative individual to create, edit, and manage digital content for the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL). The Teaching Excellence Digital Content Development Coordinator:
1. Collaborates with CETL staff, Faculty Fellows, eLearning, and other Dallas College stakeholders to maintain a comprehensive, online content library that supports teaching excellence and faculty professional development.
2. Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads content to create clear, concise, and error-free resources for a faculty audience.
3. Designs engaging and effective digital content by using a combination of media, including text, images, graphics, audio, and video.
4. Implements SharePoint content, including creating page layouts, developing overall site navigation, managing updates, and troubleshooting. No coding experience required.
5. Leads regular reviews and updates of content on CETL-managed SharePoint sites

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College.
2. Must be self-directed, creative, and detail-oriented, with excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, set priorities appropriately, and meet deadlines while ensuring the highest level of accuracy and quality.
4. Must have exceptional writing, editing, and fact-checking skills, as well as the ability to effectively proofread with close attention to grammar, mechanics, and usage.
5. Demonstrated ability to effectively incorporate visual elements into web content, including selecting appropriate stock photos, basic photo editing and compositing, and creating simple graphics.
6. Knowledge of content/graphic design best practices and the ability to apply them when creating web content.
7. Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and work well in a highly collaborative team environment.
8. Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in written and oral contexts with individuals and groups from varied backgrounds.
9. Ability to collect and analyze data to make decisions.
10. Demonstrated skills with Microsoft programs, especially SharePoint, Word, and Teams.
11. Basic understanding of online content strategy, responsive content creation, and accessibility best practices.
12. Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
13. Completes required professional development training hours per academic year.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree. Official Transcripts Required
• Three (3) years of writing and copy-editing experience
• One (1) year of experience creating content for the web
• Current and valid Texas driver’s license is required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with CETL and eLearning staff, Faculty Fellows, and representatives for other Dallas College departments to design and produce digital content that supports teaching excellence and faculty professional development.

1. Collaborate with CETL and eLearning staff, Faculty Fellows, and representatives for other Dallas College departments to design and produce digital content that supports teaching excellence and faculty professional development.

2. Research, write, edit, and proofread instructional materials, technical documentation, website copy, etc.
3. Select and create images and graphics for CETL resources; collaborate with Dallas College Digital Communications and eLearning Creative Services as needed to request development of advanced visual elements and audio/video content.
4. Establish and manage a review system and associated tracking tools to ensure that all content on CETL-managed sites is regularly reviewed and promptly updated.
5. Communicate with individuals and department representatives across Dallas College to coordinate content updates and ensure that content aligns with college policies and supports teaching effectiveness, equity, inclusivity, and student success.
6. Develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand, voice, and style across CETL web content.
7. Oversee the copy-editing process for all new web content to ensure accuracy and consistency of style, tone, and quality.
8. Collaborate with CETL and eLearning leadership on overall web development strategy and processes.
9. Review SharePoint usage reports to prepare regular updates for CETL leadership and make suggestions for content and navigation improvements based on data.
10. Keep abreast of emerging technologies and how they can be used to improve CETL resources and services.
11. Serve on college task forces, committees, and councils as required.
12. Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to the needs of the College.
13. Completes required professional development training hours per academic year.
