Position Summary

Dallas College is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative leader with a proven track record of applied labor market analysis for program alignment in higher education. The Director, Future of Work reports to the Senior Director, Labor Market Intelligence Center and will be expected to:

1. Expand and utilize a college-wide Labor Market Intelligence Center, serving Academics, Student Success, Workforce, Advancement, and Operations functions
2. Oversees future of work and labor market strategy for district-wide analysis of career-connected opportunities for Dallas College students in Dallas County

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College
• Experience leading or managing major change initiatives including knowledge and skill in process improvement, project planning, conflict resolution, team building, customer service, and data-based decision-making concepts
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and constituents within the Dallas College community network.
• Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of Dallas College’s current transition
• Experience identifying new category growth areas, solution concepts, and technical innovation
• Experience with economic development planning and initiatives focused on matching employers with skilled workers
• Knowledge of forward-looking insights on the relationship between workforce and higher education
• Knowledge of the Dallas economy, including employer and workforce needs and challenges
• Ability to analyze multi-layered problems and propose solutions
• Experience in conducting research and synthesizing data to produce in-depth analysis that convey new ideas for Dallas College administration
• Demonstrated knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion and a demonstrated commitment to the promotion of diversity
• Knowledge of compliance with pertinent state and federal laws and regulations
• Knowledge of current research and policy recommendations as well as state and national initiatives related to improving economic mobility and opportunity for underserved populations
• Experience in strategic planning, assessment of program(s) effectiveness, and development of strategy to improve employer engagement
• Employ data-informed decision making and use predictive analytics

Physical Requirements

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree. Official transcripts required
• Two (2) years of experience in economic development or community college roles
• Two (2) years of experience working with labor market intelligence or institutional data to guide educational and workforce initiatives and decisions
• Demonstrated successful experience developing strategic partnerships through data analysis and application
• Commitment to working across the community to create economic opportunities and living-wage jobs for underserved/marginalized populations
• Current and valid Texas driver’s license for offsite travel

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and manage leading-edge strategy around educational structures, workforce talent, technology, and ways of acquiring experience
• Work across industry and education boundaries to develop future of work, labor market strategy
• Understand the impact of technology of the future of work for Dallas College students
• Responsible for evaluating existing or new data documentation for accuracy, effectiveness, and quality
• Responsible for strategic and innovative alignment of operational and strategic goals with future of work priorities
• Apply advanced understanding and application of labor market alignment resources to support district-wide projects
• Collaborate with colleagues in planning and completing labor market projects
• Propose and lead new projects with plans to execute with manageable deadlines
• Act as a key advisor to Senior Director, Labor Market Intelligence Center
