Position Function

Provide administrative and managerial leadership to key ERP systems, including Banner (Student), Degree Works, and SmartCatalog; monitor and maintain Banner and DegreeWorks processes pertaining to curriculum management; design and manage projects to ensure the highest level of curriculum data integrity; provide advice, guidance and support to colleges and departments in the area of curriculum revisions through SmartCatalog.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum Experience

At least one year of experience with curriculum and curriculum processes. Some experience working with relational databases.

Minimum Other

Strong interpersonal relationship skills.

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Experience

Several years of experience using Banner and Degree Works; familiarity with academic policy and procedures.

Preferred Other

Strong communication skills; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Review all proposed graduate and undergraduate student curriculum updates in Banner, translate/interpret and determine the appropriate methodology for building within database structure; provide guidance on processes regarding degree, major, minor, and concentration updates to student records; clearly communicate policies, procedures and changes to students, faculty and advisors.

Design and manage a variety of curriculum data integrity projects to ensure data accuracy; Research, develop and review policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective use of systems; make recommendations for improved processes and procedures in collaboration with multiple units.

Identify problems and provide solutions for colleges, departments, and advisors in relation to the curriculum update process; development and communication of curriculum management policies and procedures; maintain the accuracy of curriculum data within the Banner Student Information System by adhering to all curriculum-related policies and procedures.

Develop and maintain data integrity checks relating to student curriculum and exception management in collaboration with academic units and advisors; communicate necessary updates with departments and advisors.

In consultation with the Associate Director of Academic Systems, create and maintain degree plan templates in Degree Works; identify issues and make recommendations to the Associate Director for degree plan management in Degree Works; advise academic advisors regarding degree plan management; enter and verify student Degree Works data as necessary.

Oversee crucial functions relating to exceptions management in Degree Works; provide feedback and develop best practices on the use of exceptions. Review exceptions requests in degree works and make determination on appropriateness.

Work collaboratively with the Curriculum Coordinator to provide support for colleges and departments on curriculum change requests through SmartCatalog.

In coordination with the Office of Admissions, review transfer recommendations and administer the curriculum update process for transfer, guest, and re-enrolling student populations in Banner; complete necessary updates to Banner and Degree Works for these populations.
