Job Summary
Using evolving technologies, the instructional technology specialist develops online courses according to established guidelines and specifications; creates curated media, including print, digital, audio, video and animation; and provides a range of training and support services.

Job Responsibilities and Execution
- Assists in the development and evaluation of online courses according to established guidelines and specifications
- Creates curated media, including print, digital, audio, video and animation
- Provides a range of training and support services
- Evaluates, selects, implements and maintains new tools and methodologies to support online teaching and learning
- Maintains comprehensive records
- Achieves annual, measurable individual improvement goals of acquiring or refining skills and/or obtaining increased knowledge in job-related areas
Service Excellence
- Supports the mission of the university and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
- Models, supports and holds others accountable to the university’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity and teamwork
- Professionally evaluates and respectfully delivers educational programs; offers academic support as needed
- Promotes the university by participating in relevant professional organizations and events
- Provides exemplary customer services to faculty and
instructors
Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration
- Collaborates with all relevant parties throughout the design and delivery of educational programs
- Assists faculty and instructors in applying models, methodologies or technologies appropriate to course or program content, context and format
- Supports a culture of continuous professional improvement and the attainment and assessment of institutional, program and course learning outcomes
- Seeks opportunities to exchange and integrate innovative ideas

Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree preferred

Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job’s functions.
- General office/educational setting, including computer labs, classrooms, and related support facilities at system-wide campuses and extension sites
- Online academic environment
- Occasional night and weekend work may be required to support the diverse teaching schedules of faculty and instructors
