Title: Accounting Associate

Position Summary: Provides customer service, performs all duties which relate to accounting, including assisting with the tracking monitoring and reporting of CARES/HEERF federal funds, assisting with payroll and purchasing processes related to CARES/HEERF funds, and communicates with the campus personnel and general public. Performs other job related duties relative to the area of responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities: Compiles and prepares appropriate data and documentation for CARES/HEERF funds and related expenditures for reporting; ensures accuracy of grant expense and revenue data and documentation. Assist Payroll Services and Purchasing and Contracts Office due to increased work volume related to CARES/HEERF federal awards. Assists vendors, departments, employees, and students by providing requested information or materials. Provides competent, professional and quality service. Maintains confidentiality of information and works in accordance with FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information. Processes computer generated reports as necessary; reviews for accuracy. Performs a variety of general clerical duties including word processing, maintaining files and records, and processing the mail. Inputs documents into computerized accounting programs and processes computer output. Monitors, balances, and reconciles various accounts. Other duties as assigned, including cashiering when needed.

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (Written and verbal). Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet. Knowledge of principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting. Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment. Basic math and alphabetizing skills. Confident in using own initiative, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines. Detail oriented.

Pay Rate: 29,630.00 - 35,560.00 annual salary depending on experience
