Ohio Wesleyan University ( www.owu.edu ) is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and is located just 20 miles north of Columbus. The Departments of Chemistry and Biology at Ohio Wesleyan University invite applications for a full-time (non-tenure, one or two year term), Assistant Professor of Chemistry or Assistant Professor of Biology (depending on background) to begin in Fall 2021. We seek a biochemist or microbiologist with research interests and training in biochemistry and prokaryotic biology to teach upper-level courses in Biochemistry, Bacterial Physiology, and Medical Microbiology along with an introductory course in General Chemistry. The teaching assignment consists of approximately 12 hours of direct student contact per week. The courses (each of which includes laboratory instruction) will be taught on a rotating basis by semester. The start date for this position is August 18, 2021.

 

Qualifications

PhD (or ABD) in Biochemistry or Microbiology with an expertise in biochemistry and prokaryotic biology and a strong commitment to teaching is required. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred. Completed application packets will include:
