Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the position of Admissions & Recruitment Leader (Director of Admissions) to continue leading the campus’s momentum in new student enrollment growth. The successful candidate will provide visionary and operational leadership to the Admissions team. The Director will be responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive recruitment plan that is designed to meet annual recruitment goals.   Makes budgetary recommendations/proposals based on resource needs and ensures cost containment.  Conducts research on emerging technologies, services, protocols/processes, and/or standards in support of admissions and recruitment efforts.  Responsible for the implementation of new protocols/procedures to address business needs.

 Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions will plan and implement all objectives related to fulfilling the campus strategic plan as it relates to new student enrollment goals; in collaboration with the Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) of Enrollment Management provide operational leadership and coordination of assigned staff members to define admissions and recruitment methodologies and standards to recruit traditional and nontraditional students; provide direction and guidance on high priority admissions and recruitment initiatives; oversee the development and implementation of the admissions marketing plan; provide leadership in the development and implementation of the institutional Strategic Enrollment Management plan; and use their knowledge, skills, and experiences with diverse communities to support IU Kokomo’s commitment to preparing students to engage in an increasingly diverse and global society.  In collaboration with AVC, manage and oversee implementation of strategy with contracted entities both internal and external to IU.  Prepare a broad range of communications ranging from all recruitment literature to personalized mailings. Continually assess the website and social media for creative content, up-to-date information; assure that electronic media meets the needs of prospective & admitted students; collect and review data on applicants, admits & metrics to inform decision-making related to recruitment practices on a regular basis; conducts a variety of personnel actions to include, but not limited to hiring, training promotion, performance management, and dismissal; manage high level assignments and allocation of admission and recruitment resources, including negotiating and coordinating initiatives that involve staff in other departments, areas/teams; may coordinate large scale admissions and recruitment projects with a wide audience in support of academic initiatives; maintain and build strategic partnerships including with colleagues in academic affairs; community-based groups representing the diversity of our recruitment area; and  area superintendents, school counselors, and community college personnel. 

Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in higher education student affairs, business, public policy, or related field and 4 years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, higher education student affairs, business, or related field. Also required is one or more years of management experience in relevant field and proficient with Microsoft Office. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Master’s degree and driver’s license preferred.
