Position Summary:

The Clinical Research Nurse will join the Clinical Research Central Office (CRCO) at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) to coordinate cancer clinical research within one or more Disease-Oriented Teams. The primary duties of this job involve the management of subjects enrolled in clinical research studies at the UW Carbone Cancer Center. This position will report to the Clinical Team Manager and work under the general direction of the Principal Investigator of each research study.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

RN required; Associate's degree required, BS in Nursing strongly preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Minimum one year nursing experience.
-Candidates should have exceptional clinical nursing skills and expertise coupled with a strong interest in clinical research.
- Prior experience with the treatment of patients with anticancer agents is preferred.
- Prior clinical research experience preferred, particularly specialized nursing competence in the field of Oncology Research.
- Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant professional work experience. A minimum of seven years of experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

License or Certificate:

Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.

- The incumbent is expected to follow the policies, procedures, guidelines for excellence and professionalism established by the UWCCC and the University of Wisconsin. Additionally, this position will assure that all clinical research activity adheres to Federal, State, and University policies, procedures and requirements.

TB testing and a Caregiver Background Check will be required at the time of employment. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
