The Counselor Education Program at the University of Lynchburg invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2021. The University of Lynchburg is a small comprehensive private university located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in central Virginia. The Counselor Education Program at the University of Lynchburg is small-by-design, providing a rigorous and relationally based counselor preparation experience. The program is CACREP accredited and offers degrees in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. We seek a colleague who is committed to excellence in teaching, supervision, and the continuous improvement of our program.
Position Responsibilities:
-
Develop and teach graduate coursework
for clinical mental health and school counseling students
Supervise clinical experiences
Provide programmatic administrative
support
Advise counseling graduate
students
Engage in scholarship and service
activities consistent with the requirements of the College of
Education, Leadership Studies, and Counseling
Qualifications:
Required:
-
An earned doctorate in Counselor
Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program; ABD
will be considered with an included letter from the candidate’s
dissertation advisor indicating the anticipated date of degree
completion
Experience in teaching graduate-level
counseling and related courses
Clinical supervision experience
Potential of service and scholarship
in the field
Preferred:
-
Educational background and
professional experience in Clinical Mental Health and/or School
Counseling
Professional counselor licensure or
licensure eligibility in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Experience with CACREP and CAEP
accreditation
Evidence of service and scholarship
in the field
