Position Summary:
The Migrant Education Regional Recruiter is responsible for identifying and recruiting children and out of school youth (OSY) aged birth through 22 years who are eligible for enrollment in the KY Migrant Education Program. The incumbent is the liaison between the family/OSY and school district staff, community and other agencies. The Regional Recruiter will explain to parents/guardians and OSY the services offered within the parameters of the program as defined by federal law and the regulatory program guidance. As well as referral for service needs of those families recruited. The incumbent provides technical assistance to local school district staff and other service providers; counsels targeted students aged 3-22 and their parent/guardians.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, counseling or related field is required.

Minimum Experience:
•One year of related work experience is required, including volunteer or students work experience with the migrant education program; Latino/Spanish-speaking population in general; or other programs supporting migrant and/or Spanish-speaking population.
•Bilingual in English and Spanish including Translation/Interpretation and fluency in oral and written language is required.

Identifies and recruits eligible migrant children and out of school youth (OSY) within the assigned region.
Assists the regional staff to provide advocacy and referrals for academic needs and personal welfare.
Collects required data in support of recruitment efforts and supports training opportunities regional and statewide identification and recruitment (ID&R).
Participates in state quality control processes as needed.
Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned.
