The University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) invites qualified applicants to apply for a full-time tenure track faculty position. The UNCP nursing program is expanding in scope and size allowing an increase in the number of tenured track faculty positions. Educational preparation and clinical expertise in maternal child, mental health, and/or community health nursing preferred. An individual in the position may teach in pre-licensure BSN, RN-BSN, and/or Graduate nursing programs during the academic year and summer session.

The successful candidates primary responsibilities include assisting the nursing faculty team in curriculum design and review, providing classroom and clinical instruction, student advisement, participating in departmental governance as well as official activities of the Department of Nursing, College of Health Sciences, and the University. Other responsibilities include contributing to the development of the nursing profession through research and scholarship as well as engaging in community and professional service associated with the area of expertise.

Salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  All candidates should hold a minimum of a master’s degree in nursing. Preference will be given to those who either have or are working toward earning a doctoral degree in nursing or related field. The applicant must hold a license as a registered nurse in North Carolina before employment. Candidates should have academic experience appropriate for rank and a minimum of two years clinical practice experience. Competency in online instruction and two years teaching experience is preferred.

Management Preferences:  Educational preparation and clinical expertise in maternal child, mental health, and/or community health nursing preferred. Terminal degree preferred; MSN degree required.

Licenses or Certifications:  Unrestricted RN license in the state of North Carolina.
