Position Summary

The Office of International Education and the Department of Geography at the University at Buffalo (UB) invite applications for instructors to teach Geography courses in the UB undergraduate program at the Singapore Institute of Management in Singapore.

Two positions are available beginning Fall 2021: a position for a specialist in Technology and Human Geography, and a position for a specialist in International Trade.

The positions consist of teaching from two to three courses per semester. The individual(s) hired may be employed on a single semester or a multi-semester basis.

Accommodations in Singapore and round trip airfare are provided.

Employment in these positions will be conditional upon receipt of applicable employment authorization and entry approval from the Government of Singapore.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Geography or a directly related field and three years of teaching experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) is required. Teaching experience must include teaching undergraduate students in-person, in a US college or university environment. Experience teaching courses in the designated specialty (Technology & Human Geography or International Trade) is also required, as is experience teaching in a multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications

A PhD degree in Geography plus three or more years of teaching experience is preferred. Experience living and teaching in an overseas environment, especially an Asian environment, are a plus.
