About the Opportunity:
The Bouve College of Health Sciences seeks a Program Manager to join their team in the Department of Communications Sciences and Disorders. The perfect candidate for this role appreciates working in a dynamic environment, is detail orientated and has the ability to work independently.

Bouve College of Health Sciences is comprised of four preeminent schools of study encompassing approximately 1,000 faculty and staff, 5,000 students, and 40,000 alumni.

Please note: The primary work location for this position is the Boston MA Northeastern University Campus Location. Until our full return to campus, which is still to-be-determined, this interview process will be conducted remotely- including virtual interviews, remote onboarding and remote work. The remote nature of this position is subject to change in the future and is only temporary. Local, on-campus work will be required once the College and this role return to an operational status that supports it.

Responsibilities:
The Program Manager will report to the Chairperson of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. This person provides high-level functions and support duties to the chair, faculty, students and staff by implementing administrative systems, procedures, and policies; monitoring budgetary and fiscal aspects, managing administrative projects; and coordinating and maintaining all departmental logistics. Specifically, the Program Manager will implement and maintain all administrative and procedural systems in the Department and academic programs housed within the department. Additionally, s/he will be the liaison with the Dean's Office in Bouve College of Health Sciences in order to respond to university's processes, policies, logistics and requests. Some of the activities the Program Manager will carry out on a regular basis include: academic support (prospective students, Registrar's Office; SAIL mapping; teaching support logistics; accreditation records and reports; mid-semester course evaluations/TRACE; book adoptions; departmental systems and procedures (maintaining and updating all electronic files on SharePoint, TEAMS, Canvas as well as paper files in department); space and facilities (managing furniture, computers, phones and shared space); scheduling and logistics (managing various requests for meetings and events including continuing education events/ASHA CEUs for preceptors); Concur activities (initiate, track and report); vendors and supplies (purchasing, invoicing and reimbursements). Other major responsibilities include supporting the graduate admissions process - managing dedicated admissions email account, scheduling and conducting prospective student tours/meetings, scheduling and logistics for open houses and accepted student days, managing the CSDCAS portal, scheduling and coordination of interviews, approval of pre-requisite coursework and supporting the admissions committee and program director with other tasks as requested.

In addition, the Program Manager will serve as the Department's liaison within and outside the University. External relations will be supported by developing, implementing and maintaining the departmental website, social media efforts and alumni relations. The Program Manager will meet regularly with the Chairperson to set priorities and goals in order to ensure smooth, efficient and timely fulfillment of duties and responsibilities. Additionally, will work closely with other department leadership (Associate Chair for Research and Innovation, Program Directors, Director of Clinical Education, Speech-Language & Hearing Center Director) as well as staff in the Speech-Language and Hearing Center (SLHC). Assistance with staff coverage in the SLHC on an as needed basis to ensure daily operations for clinical education and patient/client care are maintained.

This position serves as external liaison for the department and requires proactive and effective communication with the department's leadership, faculty, staff, students and key staff in the College Dean's Office.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a professional academic, business, or medical setting required. Demonstrated experience with administrative support activities; managerial principles and practices; team environment; troubleshooting and solving complex issues; customer service principles; diverse populations and cultures. Expected skill set will include: Ability to multi-task, work both independently and as part of a team; high degree of self-motivation to lead and follow through with projects; ability to manage others, multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; ability to handle confidential information; highly organized and detail oriented; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong interpersonal communication skills; proficiency with computer software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, Adobe, Word Press, etc.); initiative and willingness to learn new approaches and develop novel departmental systems and processes; ability to relate well with all levels of the community and people of diverse backgrounds; ability to manage external relations, website publicity and social media; ability to provide and respond well to constructive feedback.
