Visiting Assistant Professor of Music

Visiting Assistant Professor of Music. The Music Department invites applicants for a four-year replacement position, beginning August 2021. Ideal candidates will have experience and success in instrumental conducting as well as teaching undergraduate music courses within a liberal arts context; conducting the Allegheny College Civic Symphony, an orchestra of students and community members is required of the position. Additional music courses to be taught will be determined according to departmental needs and the successful candidate’s strengths. PhD or other terminal degree strongly preferred; ABD will be considered. Teaching load is six courses per year (3-3). All faculty are expected to participate in delivering college-wide first-year/sophomore seminars. Opportunities and support for research and scholarly activity are available.
