The Department of Chemistry has a full-time, one-year visiting assistant professor position for the 2021-2022 academic year. The assignment will be to teach courses in organic chemistry.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide instruction in organic chemistry (CHEM 2111/CHEM 2112) during the fall and spring semesters. Work with laboratory directors to successfully carry out courses.
Serve as primary instructor in organic chemistry courses. Prepare all lectures and assignments. Oversee all aspects of the courses, working with other faculty and staff. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the course, including course and syllabus preparation; grading exams and papers. Must maintain a minimum of three office hours per week.
Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEarned doctorate (or its foreign equivalent) or appropriate terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesTeaching experience at the university level.
