Job Description

The position is responsible for curriculum development and facilitation of leadership education programming as part of the Fraternal Leaders Institute (FLI) series. Specifically, the position will be responsible for creating, updating, and coordinating the curriculum for FLI and infusing inclusion and multicultural competencies into leadership education and community development. Additionally, the position will serve as the primary advisor to the executive board members of one of the four councils, as well as serve as a chapter coach to a portfolio of fraternities and sororities across all four councils. Along with the team members in the office, the Assistant Director will serve as a resource for chapter / faculty advisors, organizational volunteers, alumni/ae, parents, national representatives/volunteers, university administrators, staff/faculty, and the university community regarding the fraternity and sorority community. With a focus on wellbeing and safe community development, the position will coordinate strategic efforts for the fraternity and sorority community. The position will also represent Fraternity and Sorority Life on special division and university committees/projects. The Assistant Director will report to the Director.

Required Qualifications

The candidate should possess: a Masters degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs Administration or related field and demonstrated post-masters work experience in a Student Affairs related setting; demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations; counseling, mentoring, and student organization advising experience; outstanding communication, administrative, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

It is prefered that the candidate possess; the ability to engage in difficult conversations and conflict; prior experience working with a fraternity and sorority community/ population; leadership development program facilitation or curriculum development coordination; demonstrate an understanding of the complex landscape and issues involved in the fraternity and sorority community/ population.
