Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Head Coach, assist with the responsibilities of a Division I Men's Basketball program in accordance with NCAA, Big Ten, and University regulations.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
* Bachelor's degree
* Successful coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level.

Preferred:
* Three (3) years or more of collegiate coaching experience at the Division I level
* Demonstrated success in recruiting student-athletes
* Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

Ideal candidates should demonstrate the following:
* Ability to foster team competitive success while maintaining a strong emphasis on the personal development and academic achievement of student-athletes
* Excellent communication skills to work with student-athletes, other coaches, and administrators
* Knowledge of and experience with NCAA and Big Ten rules.
* Ability to be flexible in accepting new responsibilities

Conditions of Appointment: This is a Limited appointment, serving at the discretion of the Head Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics, on an annual 12-month contract. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included. Successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment.
