Role Summary

The Department of Languages and Literature seeks to make an appointment to a Visiting Faculty in Spanish language. The position will be of interest to those with expertise in teaching Spanish as a foreign language

The role holder will be a member of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS). The instructor is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching students at the undergraduate levels. The job holder will select and/or prepare resources, plan for effective teaching, and understand the students' interests and their cultural backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will make a full contribution to the academic life of the University through teaching and academic service. The candidate is expected to have experience in teaching Spanish language for academic purposes at the university level.

The College and Department

The Department of Languages and Literature, CHSS is housed in a state-of-the -art facility  on Maqam campus offering undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department is interdisciplinary, with 14 full-time faculty members and 11 instructors. With more than 3,000 students and approximately 150 faculty members, CHSS is the largest of the nine colleges that make up the UAE University. CHSS recently implemented a major restructuring of its departments, intended to facilitate program innovation and opportunities for increased interdisciplinary research. This is part of larger suite of planned changes involving not only the reorganization of departments, but the provision of a range of new, innovative, interdisciplinary academic programs. Education & qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD or M.A degree in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language or any related field. Candidates should also have experience in teaching Spanish language for academic purposes at the university level.
