About the Opportunity:
The newly formed School of Clinical and Rehabilitation Sciences within the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University invites applicants for an open-rank tenure/tenure track position starting August 2021. The hired candidate will be appointed in either the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences or the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Joint and affiliated appointments across colleges in line with the candidate's research and education portfolio are possible and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities:
The hired candidate will have the specific responsibility for developing a transdisciplinary research program and synergistic education activities that address the need for innovative approaches in clinical and rehabilitation sciences that integrate knowledge, methods, and practices from a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to engineering, computer sciences, clinical sciences, artificial intelligence and design. To do so, the hired candidate will work with faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and students from different disciplines across the School, College, and University.

The hired candidate will have the general responsibilities of tenured/tenure-track faculty in the department including: developing and leading an externally funded research program that complements the broad expertise of the faculty, staff, and students in the Departments, College, and University; teaching in and supporting current and planned education and accredited professional programs; and providing service to the University, its colleges, and departments.

Candidates eligible for professional/clinical practice credentials in Speech-Language Pathology, Physical Therapy, or a related clinical field that meet the qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have an academic terminal degree (PhD, ScD, or EdD) in Rehabilitation Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Bioengineering, Neuroscience, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Physical Therapy or in a related transdisciplinary field. To be considered for the rank of associate or full, candidates must be currently leading a nationally recognized research program including both independent and collaborative projects supported by extramural funding and a strong record of peer reviewed publications in archival scientific journals. To be considered for the rank of assistant, candidates must demonstrate the potential to develop both an independent and collaborative research program with appropriate levels of research productivity.
