The College of Nursing and Health Science (CONHS) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) invites application for a full time, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Health Sciences to begin fall 2021. We are seeking qualified candidates with the following areas of expertise: health management, epidemiology, long-term care, health care quality and safety, health law, healthcare finance, and/or health services research.

TAMUCC CONHS tenure/tenure-track faculty responsibilities include teaching, engaging in research and practice, and contributing to the college, university, and community through service. Design, implement, and evaluate a constellation of undergraduate and graduate courses (baccalaureate, and masters). Actively participate in a program of scholarship. Regularly disseminate information that will contribute to healthcare practice through workshops, presentations, peer-reviewed journals, or books. Model exemplar professional behavior through work with students, peers, and community colleagues. Provide student support to include mentoring, advising, recruiting, project supervision. Foster relationships with health care facilities; collaborate with community partners to establish internships; assist in maintaining and ensuring compliance with AUPHA standards and guidelines; and perform other duties as requested or assigned by the administration. Participate in the CONHS activities that contribute to achieving TAMUCC and CONHS organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:
  • PhD in Health Sciences or related field with sustained teaching experience in the Health Sciences or Healthcare Administration.
  • Experience in health management, epidemiology, long-term care, health care quality and safety, health law, healthcare finance, and/or health services research.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Health Sciences/Healthcare Administration education at the baccalaureate and/or graduate level.
  • Extensive knowledge of the various health science and healthcare administration disciplines, evidence of scholarly activity commensurate with tenure/ tenure-track requirements of the college and university.
  • Experience with on-line course development, teaching, best practices in online education and uploading to the Blackboard platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and with community practice partners.
  • Experience and/or interest in working with diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with web-based course delivery methods.
  • Established program of research and demonstrated success in acquiring funding.
  • Administrative experience in practice or educational area.
