We seek an enthusiastic individual committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching to join the Computer Science teaching faculty. A master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is required; a Ph.D. is preferred. Applicants should feel comfortable teaching computer science majors, including introductory programming courses through data structures, and will have the opportunity to teach upper-level electives based on expertise. Candidates in all areas of specialization will be considered, and qualified applicants will have the opportunity to teach in our Data Science Masters' and undergraduate programs as well.Teaching load will be 4 courses each in fall and spring, with no required summer teaching. The candidate will assist the department in curricular development, review, and assessment, as well as contribute to the educational mission of Loyola University Maryland.Required Qualifications- Masters' degree in Computer Science or related field- Expertise in Java, Python, or a similar high-level programming language- An appreciation of or engagement in high impact practices in line with the mission of Loyola's Jesuit higher education- The ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroomPreferred Qualifications- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline- Teaching experience in upper-level computer science courses- Commitment to the goals of education in the Jesuit traditionApplicants must submit the following online- A letter of application listing teaching interests, and research interests (if applicable)- A curriculum vitae- A teaching statement- Contact information for three referencesThe position will be open until filled.
