Summary

The Baylor Psychiatry Service at Harris Health System and Ben Taub Hospital has an opening for a highly-motivated, team-oriented full-time or part-time Psychiatrist position at the Assistant Professor level to provide emergency psychiatry treatment at Ben Taub Psychiatric Emergency Center. This position comes with a faculty appointment within the Menninger Department of Psychiatry, a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package. Clinical duties include patient care responsibilities mostly at Ben Taub Psychiatric Emergency Center with some outpatient work. This attending psychiatrist works in a physician-led environment with Emergency Medicine physicians, nurses, social workers and supporting staff to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment for a broad range of mental illnesses.

Faculty teaching responsibilities include direct clinical supervision of residents, fellows and medical students.

Job Duties
  • Collaborative work with emergency physicians, nurses, and a multidisciplinary team
  • Direct care to patients experimenting mental health crises
  • Supervising and teaching fellows, residents, medical students, and other staff
  • Direct outpatient clinic care

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: MD/DO, board certified (preferably) and board eligible in psychiatry
  • Minimum Job Experience: Related experience or training required.
  • Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration: Must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board.
