Job Description

The Department of English at Virginia Tech invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Linguistics to begin August 2021. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in sociolinguistics; serving on departmental committees. Teaching load 3/3.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in hand by 1 August 2021 in Linguistics or a related field with preparation in sociolinguistics; the promise of research and publication; and evidence of successful teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

Publication in sociolinguistics; ability to teach psycholinguistics and language & gender; teaching/working with diverse populations.
