$500 Sign-Bonus for those hired on or after June 15, 2021 and before August 16, 2021. ½ paid at first check and ½ paid after 90 days, of eligibility requirements are met.

This position reports to the Manager of Housekeeping and assists with the management of the housekeeping department operations. The Assistant Manager oversees shared supervision and oversight for managing performance and motivation for 50+ employees, including scheduling, performance reviews, and documentation when needed. Monitors building conditions and staff productivity, ensuring housekeeping staff are working safely, efficiently and following safety procedures to meet quality and service standards. This also includes assisting the Housekeeping Manager in developing, implementing, and overseeing a robust quality and training program for the Housekeeping Department. This position requires sound housekeeping technical knowledge, solid leadership skills, and the ability to ensure all functions and goals of the housekeeping operations are met. While primarily a leadership role, this person will need to fulfill the duties of housekeeper if/when needed. Education/Skills Requirements
High School diploma or GED minimum requirement. Associates degree desired in business management, hospitality, or facilities related field or equivalent work experience required. Excellent interpersonal skills, with a customer-oriented approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects to completion and prioritize effectively. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to negotiate and mediate required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Outlook; willingness and initiative to work with technology (e.g. maintenance management software) and learn new software applications as necessary. Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
A minimum of 2 years’ proven, successful, experience in the leadership and management of staff. Demonstrated proficiency in hiring, supervising, and staff development required. 2-3 years of experience with proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques and the appropriate procedures in an institutional setting required. Standard Work Days and Hours
This is a non-exempt, hourly position requiring the time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements. Responsible for staff working on three shifts and weekends, the core hours of this position are Monday through Friday, 4:00am – 1:30pm or 7:30am – 4:00p, as well as some nights, weekends, and pager coverage. On-call 24/7, except during scheduled vacations. About Bowdoin
