The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Management with emphasis on Strategy with specialization in technology strategy at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in mid-August 2021.
This recruitment is part of an ambitious Invest Syracuse Cluster Hire Initiative in the broad area of Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, and the Human-Technology Frontier. Faculty hired into these positions will build on our existing strengths in the focus area and will participate in an organized research cluster that spans multiple departments in the Whitman School, the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences, the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, the College of Law, and the School of Information Studies. We are interested in scholars with expertise or interests in technology strategy including innovation and management of technologies related to AUS or evolution of autonomous technology-based industries and ecosystems. We are also interested in scholars who seek to better understand and describe the innovation and management of these newly emerging technologies at the firm level and identify the evolving industry and ecosystems dynamics. We also encourage applications from scholars who focus on the interaction between firms, government regulators, and other societal stakeholders to better appreciate the benefits and costs of such new technologies for all concerned stakeholders.

Qualifications

We are looking for an emerging scholar who can contribute to the above areas. Successful candidates must have an earned PhD in Management with emphasis on Strategy and/or a closely related discipline by the start of the appointment. Candidates with 1-3 years of experience will be considered, as will those who are currently ABD .
