The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for the position of Associate Dean. This appointment will be made during the Spring semester 2021, with a projected start date on or before August 16, 2021.

The specific roles to be assigned to this position have not yet been determined. Duties and responsibilities will be considered during the interview and offer process, and there will be a redistribution of duties now being performed by current Associate Deans. For this reason, applications will be accepted from faculty based in any of the three College divisions.

The primary responsibility of Associate Deans is to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as a whole. All Associate Deans are assigned portfolios that in whole or in part cut across all departments in the College, such as research, facilities, undergraduate affairs, graduate affairs, faculty affairs, international affairs, and curriculum. Some associate deans also serve as liaison to academic units in the College, typically divided roughly into humanities, natural sciences and math, social and behavioral sciences, and centers and programs.

This position is a 12-month appointment, normally extending for three or more years.

Open only to current tenured members of College of Liberal Arts and Sciences faculty.

Required Qualifications :

Applicants should be tenured faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and possess:

Preferred Qualifications :

A robust record of administrative and/or university experience. Rank of Professor, or the potential to be promoted to that rank in the near future.
