Williams College Women’s Crew is hiring! Williams College, a Division III institution and a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), invites applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Crew Coach for the academic year 2021-2022. This is a full time, 10-month, term appointment with the possibility of renewal.

Williams Women’s Crew has a storied tradition and we are looking for someone who will help
reinvigorate and enhance that tradition moving forward. Williams student/athletes are committed to elevating the physical, mental and social discourse around sport and community. A strong applicant will be active in outreach and programmatic growth and will be an effective communicator with the growing population of community outreach programs.


Responsibilities

  • Recruit on-campus students and coordinate the recruitment of HS juniors and seniors, including travel to clubs and large regattas during the summer
  • Plan and prepare practice/training schedules for novice rowers and that prepares 3V/4V
  • athletes for a smooth transition onto the varsity squad
  • Develop community outreach and programmatic initiatives
  • Coordinate and supervise trips with women’s team members; Drive college vehicles and trailers when necessary
  • Make official visit arrangements, create on-campus visit itineraries and pick up recruits
  • Maintain and create work orders regarding equipment, boathouse and on-campus training facilities; Assist and collaborate with all coaching staff in day-to-day operations


Qualifications

  • Collegiate rowing experience and at least 1 year coaching at a competitive high school or collegiate level
  • Knowledge of NESCAC and NCAA Division III policies are preferred
  • Excellent communications skills and strong interpersonal skills are essential
  • Proficiency with FrontRush, Google suite, and Excel and strong administrative organization
  • Successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to recruit, teach and coach highly talented student-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment
  • Cultural competency when working with a diverse student body
  • Valid driver license with a satisfactory record required, trailer driving experience preferred (or a willingness to learn)
